Day 02- Cochin –Vythiri (235 Kms/06 Hours Ride)              

Today morning ride to Vythiri en-route visiting Guruvayur temple which is situated near the Guruvayurappam Temple. The temple enshrines the idol of Lord Shiva and also houses smaller shrines of Ayyappa, Vishnu, Subramanyam and Ganapathy.

Vythiri, located in the hill district of Wayanad, is a popular hill station in Kerala. Day 03-Vythiri – Ooty (135 Kms/3.5 Hours Ride)

Ooty is well known as “The queen of the Blue Mountains”, lies in the Nilgiri mountain ranges in Tamil Nadu. Set at a height of 2268 meters, Ooty is a town of salubrious climate and scenic beauty. It was developed as a hill station by the British in the 19th century, and is famous for its rolling hills and valleys covered with pine and eucalyptus forests, and its tea and coffee plantations.

Day 04- Ooty – Kodaikanal (250 Kms/6.5 Hours Ride)

Kodaikanal or Kodai lies at an altitude of 2100 m in the Palani Hills, about 120 km northwest of Madurai. It is surrounded by wooded slopes, waterfalls and steep rocky outcrops and is ideal for trekking and hiking. The artificial lake created in 1910 acts as the focus of the town and also provides opportunities for boating. Pleasant in the summer, it is slightly chilly in the winter, especially after sunset.

Munnar is situated at the confluence of three mountain streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. 1600 m above sea level, this hill station was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Day 06-Munnar – Periyar (90 Kms/3 Hours Ride)

Day 02: Delhi – Amritsar by Train

Morning departure transfer to Delhi railway station to catch the train to Amritsar, Founded in 1577 by the fourth Sikh guru, Ram Das, Amritsar is home to Sikhism’s holiest shrine, the spectacular Golden Temple, one of India’s most serene and humbling sights. The same cannot be said for the hyperactive streets surrounding the temple.

Amritsar is divided in two by a tangle of railway lines. The old city, containing the Golden Temple and other historic sights and bound by 12 medieval gates, is southeast of the railway lines. The day free to explore the remote Miyar valley which is situated in NW of Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh.

Miyar valley is stretching over 100 kms from Udaipur to great Kang la pass. Miyar is known as valley of flowers. It’s an unspoilt area similar to Zanskar and local people in the area follow Buddhist customs and are mainly shepherds and farmers. During summer cultivating green peas, potatoes and Barley are main cash crop in the valley. July and August is prime time to visit this magnificent valley, blossom with high altitude flowers, rare Blue poppy is quite famous among all. Morning departure transfer with packed breakfast to catch the train to Chandigarh, on arrive at Chandigarh station then proceed Manali by private car. In the evening check in the hotel in Manali.

Day 03: Manali – Jispa (alt 3400 m.) ( approx 129 kms/05 hrs)

After breakfast interaction with cruise staff, later we start our motorbike adventure on Royal Enfield to Jispa climbing over Rohtang Pass (3978 meters).

JispaThis would really turn out to be a challenge as the roads you will bike through are really bad and the weather conditions are also uncertain. Further pass through the Lahaul Valley where there are mountains capped with snow all around. Enjoy mountain dinner of steamed momos and thukpa.

Thukpa is a very famous traditional Himalayan soup which is made by mixing meat and vegetables.

Day 04: Jispa – Tso-Khar (alt 4600 m.) (approx 180 kms/06 – 07 hrs)

Today, you will be leaving for the next destination, Tso-khar.

Baralacha Pass

When you leave from Jispa, you will enter the Greater Himalayan landscape. While you are on this route, you will see that the mountains are bigger on this part of the highway. Enjoy the view and later cross the Baralachha Pass (4850 meters). From there, head towards Sarchu which forms the border line between Kashmir and Himachal. From there continue ride to Tso-khar climbing over Naki La (4877 m) and Lachalung-The first giant above 5000 m (5065 m).

Later lunch at Pang after lunch continue ride to Tso-khar en route you will ride the bike through flatlands and get into the mountain-range-horizon. Tso-khar is a place where you will witness a mix of different natural formations which are seen through the roads and sand. Overnight at camp

Day 05: Tso Khar – Leh (altitude 3524 m.) – (Aprrox 150 km/04-05 Hrs)

The 5th day comes with a lot of challenges with more plain and get into the mountain-range-horizon. Cross the Tanglang-La Pass which is the second-highest motorable mountain pass in the world at the height of 5300 meters.

After breakfast we ride to explore some very unique landscapes of Himalayan region. A scenic ride through some fine rocky faces to visit the Lamayuru Monastery and Moonland en-route visit Nimmu; there we will witness the confluence of the Green Indus river and the brown Zanskar river.

The Pangong lake is situated at an altitude of 4267 meters. From there, we get a view of the highest mountain peaks.

The monastery got its name as it is believed two serpent spirits –Nanda and Taksako – guard it. The gompa belongs to Gelugpa sect of Buddhism which is also referred as Yellow Hat sect. It was founded by Tsongkhapa in 15th century.

Day 04: Alchi to Dha Hanu (approx 110 kms/02-03 hrs ride)

Morning after breakfast ride to the world famous village Dha Hanu, this is a rural village up the vertical rock walls of the Indus Gorge.

Walnut and apricot trees grow around huge granite boulders throughout the village. The mild climate also favors wine-grape cultivation and cherries. The harvest festival in July is a big happening with the villagers dressing up even smarter than usual, and of course lots of chang (local beer).

Day 05: Dha Hanu to Kargil (approx 50 kms/01 hrs ride)

Hamboting LaMorning proceed to Kargil over Hamboting La to reach the pristine & pristine Batalik sector. Later continue ride to Kargil, on arrival checkin & overnight at hotel.

Day 06: Kargil to Lamayuru to Leh (approx 250 kms/04-5 hrs ride)

Proceed to Leh (10000 ft asl – 234 kms – 10 hrs). Enroute visit Mulbek (known for its huge Buddha Statue) and Lamayuru monastery (10500 ft asl – The oldest monastery in Ladakh). Enroute pass the confluence of Indus – Zanskar Rivers and the effects of Magnetic Hill (Defiance of the law of gravity).

Day 07: Leh/ Khardungla/ Nubra

Early departure to Nubra Valley (10000+ ft asl – popularly known as the valley of flowers.) (125 kms – 5 hrs) enroute visit Khardung-la-pass (the highest Motorable road in the world – 17582 ft asl).

Day 08: Nubra/ Wari La/ Pangong Lake (Approx 140 kms/ 06 – 07 Hrs)

Morning after breakfast ride to Pangong lake via Wari La pass , a high altitude pass in Ladakh region, situated at an altitude of 17,400 feet. It is one of those lesser known passes that are nowadays getting a lot of attention. On arrival at Pangong, installation at camp.

Day 09:Pangong/ Tsokhar Lake (4485m) (Approx 220 kms/ 08 – 09 Hrs)

Morning proceed to Tsokhar lake, a salt lake system in the Rupsho plateau which is home of the Changa nomads and support many rare wild life species.

Day 10: Tsokhar/ Tsomoriri Lake (4500m) (Approx 75 kms/03 to 04 hrs)

Morning ride to Tsomoriri, It will be a nice wilderness drive up to Tsomoriri Lake. Arrive reaching  Tsomoriri by late noon, check-in at the camp.

In the evening relax and enjoy an overnight at the tented Camp in the Karzok village by lake side. Karzok is the only village and one of the most high altitude settlements in Ladakh.

Day 11: Tsomoriri/ Leh (Approx 225 kms/06 – 07 Hrs)

We will leave early in the morning today to drive along Indus River into the Rupshu Valley.

Detailed Tour Plan

Day 01: Arrive Delhi International airport

Day 02: Delhi = Chandigarh – Manali by surface (alt 2000 m.) (Approx 310 kms/09 hrs journey)

Morning departure transfer with packed breakfast to catch the train to Chandigarh, on arrive at Chandigarh station then proceed Manali by private car. In the evening check in the hotel in Manali.

Day 03: Manali/ Chatru / Chandertal (Approx 116 kms/ 7 hrs)

After breakfast interaction with cruise staff, later we start our motorbike adventure on Royal Enfield to Chandertal over climbing Rohtang Pass (3980 m) and then meandering our way down to Gramphu.

Day 04: Chandertal / Kaza (Approx 170 kms/ 6-7 hrs)

Early morning by walk (1 hrs one way) to visit Chandertal (The moon lake – 4270 m) which is of exquisite beauty between a lower ridge and the main Kunzum range, the outlet being into Chandra river. Enjoy the charming scenery and drive to Kaza over Kunzum Pass (4558 m) and passing some beautiful villages of Spiti valley.

Day 05: Kaza

After breakfast, you will ride to Key monastery and world highest village Komik (4587 meters).

Day 06: Kaza/ Pin Valley/Tabo (Approx 85 kms/ full day)

An excursion visiting Pin Valley, the land of Ibex and Snow Leopards. Here we also visit Gungri Monastery.

Tabo monastery was founded in 996 AD by the great teacher Richensang-po, Tabo is renowned for its breathtaking murals and stucco images – and is often called “The Ajanta of the Himalayas”. The largest monastic complex in Spiti, the old section has 9 temples, 23 chortens, a monks chamber and a nuns chamber.

Day 07: Tabo/ Nako (Approx 90 kms/ 3-4 hrs)

Day 08: Nako/ Kalpa (Approx 125 kms/ 6 hrs)

Early morning visit the village, the Buddhist temples with stucco images and murals and a rock where a footprint like impression is ascribed to Padmasambhava. Later we drive from Nako to Kalpa enroute visiting confluence of Satluj & Spiti rivers at Khab.

Day 09: Kalpa/ Sangla (Approx 103 kms/ 6 hrs)

Travel by from Kalpa to Sangla en route visiting Kamru Fort & village. We  further travel to Sangla, on arrival install at camp.

Full day excursion to Chitkul Village, A spectacular sight of Chitkul village and its surrounding left you speechless. 270 degrees of snowy, jagged panorama and 90 degrees of the arid boulder panorama, the Himalayas cover this village from all the sides and that view is breathtaking.

Day 11: Sangla/ Sarahan (Approx 198 kms/ 6-7 hrs)

Travel from Sangla to Sarahan. On arrival check in at hotel. Evening witness the Aarti ceremony at Bhimakali temple.
