Detailed Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrive Delhi – Rishikesh (224 Kms 6-7 hrs drive) – Early morning arrival at Delhi international airport , meet to us at airport and drive to Rishikesh and on arrival check-in into the hotel. Evening you will be free to explore the area. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel/camp

Day 2: Rishikesh – Mundoli ( 215 kms/ 7-8 hrs) – After an early breakfast drive to Mundoli via Dev Prayag, Rudra Prayag and Karanprayag. Arrival at Mundoli by evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Camps.

Day 3: Mundoli – Wan – Bedni Bugyal (3350 mts/11000 ft) – In the morning drive 10 kms to Wan, which is the road head for the trek. Today we will trek 11 km (5-6 hrs) to reach Bedni Bugyal, probably one of the best camping sites in the Garhwal Himalayas. Dinner and overnight stay in Camps.

Day 4: Bedni Bugyal – Rest day for acclimatization/Exploratory day. Bedni Bugyal: Bedni Bugyal is a charming green meadow adorned with flowers in a spell binding varieties, in full bloom. There is a small lake situated in the midst of the meadow, where Tarpans are offered by the devotees. Situated nearby is a small temple where the devotees pay there obeisance, during their halt at Bedni Bugyal. Overnight in Camp.

Day 5: Bedni Bugyal – Bagubassa (4100 mts/13450 ft) – After breakfast trek to Bagubassa. Bagua means flowery park and Basa means place. And rightly the place was full of variety of flowers including the rare Bhram Kamal, a special godly lotus found at only and between the altitudes of 14000 – 15000 ft. Today we will trek 10 km, taking about 4-5 hrs to reach today’s campsite at Bagubassa. Dinner and overnight in Camp.

Day 6: Bagubassa – Roopkund (4450 mts/14600 ft) – Bedni Bugyal – Bhagubasa to Roopkund is easy walking in the flat but in morens ½ hour climbing with same view as last day. (4-5 hours). Kaluka Vinayak (pass) descending till to patar nachwani. The trek to Roopkund passes through delightful alpine pasture lands and snow fields, offering magnificent views of the Trisul, Nanda Ghunti, Badrinath peaks when the snow melts, human and equine skeletons remains can be seen. Some of them with flesh attached. These remains have been preserved in the alpine condition for centuries. It is believed that these are the remains of about 300 persons who died about 500 -600 years ago. In the afternoon trek back to Bedni Bugyal for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Bedni Bugyal – Wan (2436 mts/8000 ft) – Retrace your steps towards Wan. This will take 3-4 hrs. Dinner and overnight in tents.

Day 8: Wan – Rishikesh (2200 mts /7200 ft) – After an early breakfast drive to Rishikesh. Lunch en-route and on arrival at Rishikesh check into hotel/Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 9: Rishikesh – Delhi Departure – After an early breakfast drive to Delhi and arrival directly transfer to airport to take late evening flight to home

Detailed Tour Plan

Day 1: Delhi – Rishikesh (245 Kms 6 Hrs) – Board the early morning train departing from New Delhi to reach Haridwar/Rishikesh. Transfer to a hotel in Rishikesh, a pilgrim township, a spiritual hub and a favourite meditation centre which also happens to be the Yoga Capital of the world. After lunch, there is a choice to raft on the Ganga till short of Rishikesh. In the evening explore the township and attend the aarti (evening prayers) by the banks of the river Ganga. Stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 2: Drive Rishikesh to Ghat 7-8 hrs. – Morning drive to Ghat,the starting point to begin our walk.Enroute witness the holiest confluences of the area namely Deoprayag,Rudraprayag,Karnprayag & Nandprayag. Arrive the campsite in the evening where you will be welcome by our Trek staff.

Day 3: Ghat – Ramni / Ghunni 6-7 hrs – Today we begin walking, and memorable walking it is ! The trek is gradual with ascending and descending. The countryside is fascinating green and dramatic with distant peaks always in view.We go through enchanting little villages of thatched mud houses, terraces and lush agricultural scenery. The people here are immensely attractive.Meals and Overnight in camp.

Day 4: Ramni/ Jhenji 4-5 hrs – Its a beautiful walk through the jungle of wild silver oak and rhododendron to village Jhenji. Enroute enjoy the view of snowcapped peaks from Ramnipass.

Day 5: Jhenji/ Pana 5-6 hrs – The country now is wild and lovely with more descending and ascending to village of Pana and the impressive suspension bridge.Meals and overnight in camp.

Day 6: Pana – Dhakwani (3341m) 6-7 hrs
Today a long but immensely satisfying climb on up towards Kauri pass brings us to Dhakwani. Its high and chilly and isolated and very impressive. In the distance we will see peaks of up to 6000mtrs. Meals and overnight in Camp.

Day 7: Dhakwani/ Chitrakantha 4-5 hrs
Over the Kauri Pass today, with unforgettably beautiful mountain view, considered by some to be among the finest in the world. Here are we on the edge of the great divide between the Lesser and the Greater Himalaya. After the pass trek passesthrough beautiful alpine meadows. We always have spectacular view of mighty Himalayan peaks of Nanda Devi (7817mtrs),Kamet(7756mtrs),Dronagiri(7066mtrs)Kedarnath (6940mtrs)Hathi Parbat(6727 meters) & Neelkanth(6596mtrs).Arrive and camp in beautiful meadows.Meals and overnight in camp.

Day 8: Chitrakantha

Detailed Tour Plan

Day 01: Kolkata – Lilabari (by Flight) – Ziro (By surface approx. 130 Kms/04 Hrs)

Early morning transfer to airport to catch the flight to Lilabari. Arrive at Lilabari airport and drive to Ziro en-route visit Nyishi tribal villages.

On arrival, check in to the hotel. Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 02: Ziro

Full day is to visit the Hong/Hari/Hapoli and other Apatani Villages. It is the ambition of each woman to wear the largest possible nose plugs, which are made of wood.

Both sexes extensively tattoo their faces. Each sect has distinctive features. Their hats, clothes, ornaments, language and even physical features are totally different.

Overnight in the Hotel.

Day 03: Ziro-Majuli (By surface approx. 220 Kms/05 Hrs + Ferry crossings)

After breakfast drive to Majuli Island, En route cross the local tributaries of Brahmaputra River by locally made ferry.

On arrival in Majuli, check in to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 04: Majuli Island

Full day is to explore the Majuli Island. The world’s largest River Island is famous for its twenty-two 15th Century “satras”. Visit Samuguri Satra famous for making Mask which are used during the live performance. Later visit Uttar Kamalabari Satra – the older Satra in Majuli Island.

We will also explore the villages of Mishing tribes who live on this island & Dairy farmers village.

Day 05: Majuli Island-Mon (By surface approx. 210 Kms /06 Hrs + 1 ½ hrs. ferry crossing)

Early morning start your drive to Mon for 06 hours. If lucky we may see tea workers working on the numerous tea gardens enroute. After going through local Police & Indian Army checking formalities at the border of Nagaland, we enter the state.

We will enter the first Naga village on the way to Mon to pay a visit to the Village Morung. On arrival, check-in to the resort.

Day 06: Mon

After breakfast, we drive to Longwa village (approx. 42 kms/2 Hrs), one of the biggest villages in Mon district, it is an interesting sight to see. En route we make stops to visit local market and admire scenic beauty.

As the village straddles an international boundary line, one half of the Angh’s house falls within Indian Territory, whereas the other half lies under Myanmarese control. However, the whole village is controlled by the Angh and the village Council Chairman. Another interesting feature of this village is that the Angh of the village has 60 wives and his jurisdiction extends up to Myanmar and Arunachal Pradesh. Our special local guide speaks local dialect so he will unable the interaction with tribe people. Angh’s House and Morungs are decorated with different trophies like different animals skulls.

After our picnic lunch we drive back to Mon and visit another Konyak Tattooed Head Hunters village – Hongpoi Village (approx. 15 kms/45 mins). We drive back to our resort by late afternoon and evening free to relax.

Day 07: Mon- Jorhat (By surface approx. 190 Kms/06-07 Hrs)

After breakfast drive to Jorhat. En-route visit Charaideo Maidam – 30 kms from main Sibsagar town, sacred burial grounds of Ahom kings and queens and is also the place of ancestral Gods of the Ahoms. Later visit Kareng Ghar – The Royal Palace of Ahom Dynasty who ruled this area for 600 long years before the British came.

After lunch continue your drive to Jorhat and on arrival transfer to your Tea resort for overnight stay.

Day 08: Jorhat-Kaziranga NP (approx. 90 kms/2-3 hrs.)

Morning after breakfast drive to Kaziranga National Park, famous for its one horn Rhinos. Arrive Kaziranga and transfer to your hotel. After lunch we go for our first Jeep safari in Central Zone. O/n hotel.

Kaziranga National Park is spread over 850 sq kms across Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur districts. Kaziranga National Park is also designated World Natural Heritage sites by UNESCO in 1985. Originally established as a reserve forest in 1908, Kaziranga was declared a sanctuary in 1916 to counter excessive poaching, especially of its most prized inhabitant, the rhinoceros.

NOTE: Kaziranga National Park is closed from 01^st May TILL 31^st Oct every year.

Day 09: Kaziranga NP

Early morning enjoy Elephant safari to visit central range of the park.

Return back to your hotel for breakfast and after breakfast another trip of Jeep safari in Western Zone of the park. Afternoon after lunch enjoys your Jeep safari into the park. O/n Hotel.

Jeep Safari Timings:

Morning Safari starts from 07.00 am till 09.30 am for 02 hours.

Afternoon Safari starts from 01.30 pm till 03.30 pm for 02 hours.

Elephant Safari Timings:

Central Zone of the park at 05.30 am and at 06.30 am for 40 minutes respectively.

Day 10: Kaziranga National Park – Guwahati – DELHI/KOLKATA (FLIGHT)

Day 01: Delhi – Agra

We will start early from Delhi Hotel/Airport/Home and drive to Agra. We will visit Sikandra on our way to Agra city. Upon arrival at Agra we will check-in at the hotel.

Later we will visit the famous Red Fort of Agra, where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb, after a brief struggle for power. It is from the Red Fort that the old emperor gazed upon Taj Mahal, the tomb of his beloved queen Mumtaj.

In the Night we will proceed to Taj Mahal, which was constructed between 1631 A.D and 1654 A.D. The construction is said to have been done by a workforce of 22,000 and took some 20 years to complete.

Information About Visit Taj Mahal in Full Moon Night:

* Only 5 nights per month are allowed for Taj Mahal Moonlight Tours, 2 days before and 2 days after full moon night date.

* The time for viewing is from 8-30 p.m. to 12-30 in eight batches of 50 persons for half an hour duration. The visitors of the night viewing of Taj Mahal have to report at Shilpagram complex half an hour in advance of the viewing time.

* The night viewing tickets of Taj Mahal should be purchased one day in advance of the date of night viewing.

Day 02: Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Delhi

Day 1: Flight from Dehli to Leh

Monday. Delhi – Leh. Early morning flight from Delhi to Leh. Flights can be booked with us or independently. Upon arrival to Leh onward transfer to your guesthouse where the remains of the day can be spent at leisure.

Ladakh is a vast highland desert sitting at 3524 metres above sea level, lying between the Karakoram and the Himalayan ranges characterized by a desolate moonlike landscape and snowy peaks.

The town is still dominated by the now ruined Leh Palace, former mansion of the royal family of Ladakh, built in the same style and about the same time as the Potala Palace. The 28 000 residents of the the city are predominantly Buddhists and accordingly, Leh is the very much the heart and soul of Buddhist culture in the region. Overnight – Leh

Day 2: The Hemis Festival & city sightseeing tour

Hemis Gompa, is the biggest monastery in Ladakh and the site of the annual festival commemorating the birth of Guru Padamasambhava, who is said to have brought Vajrayana Buddhism to Bhutan and Tibet. Revered throughout the Himalayan ranges and considered the second Buddha, Guru Padmasambhava, the Lotus-born (popularly known as Guru Rinpoche, the Precious Master) was invited from India in the 8th century to conquer the dark and hostile forces transforming them into guardians and protectors of the pure dharma. In the process the guru brought Vajrayana Buddhism – a revelation of the complete and perfect path to awakening.

Followers believe that their path is the purest form of Buddhism with the goal of liberation from suffering and attainment of enlightenment. It is believed to be the path actually practiced by Buddha with the teaching indelible, even still today within the entire Himalayan region. This morning we make our way to the Hemis monastery (1.5 hrs drive), the largest and richest monastery in all of Ladakh. In the courtyard filled to capacity with local Ladakhis and pilgrims (at 9am) Guru Padamasambhava birthday celebrations will commence.

A raised dais with a richly cushioned seat with a finely painted small Tibetan table is placed with the ceremonial items – cups full of holy water, uncooked rice, tormas made of dough and butter and incense sticks. A number of musicians play the traditional music with four pairs of cymbals, large-pan drums, small trumpets and large size wind instruments. Next to them a small space is assigned for the lamas to sit.

The festival highlight is the gathering of the lamas around the central flagpole performing the mystic mask dances (Chams) and sacred plays. Chams are essentially a part of Tantric tradition, performed only in the gompas that follow the Tantric Vajrayana teachings and where the monks perform tantric worship.

Dressed in colourful bright brocades with vibrantly decorated and richly adorned paper-mache masks (some extending over 1 metre in height) the masked dancers simulate combat between good spirits and evil demons to the cacophony of drums, cymbals and long horns. The crowd unites in uproarious song and dance when the dough idol of evil is destroyed by the leader of black hat dancers signifying that good has prevailed.

This afternoon offers a guided sightseeing tour of the town, dominated by Sengge Namgyal’s, nine storey palace. The colossal stone structure is one of the most captivating architectural ruins of the region. Built in traditional Tibetan style it sits on the foothills of the barren landscape. Constructed in the 17th century as the residential palace for the King to mark the reunifying Upper and Lower Ladakh.

Above Leh Palace, on Namgyal Tsemo (Victory Peak) overlooking the town, are the ruins of the earliest royal residence at Leh a fortress type structure built by King Tashi Namgyal in the 16th century.

Visits will also be made to Sankar Gompa to view the image of Avalokitesvara, inset with turquoise and shown with 1000 heads, arms and feet and 100,000 eyes, Shanti Stupa – built to commemorate 2500 years of Buddhism and inaugurated by his holiness the Dalai Lama in 1985.

Today offers free time for you to independently explore the area. Day 4: Shey and Thiksey Monestories, Stok Palace

Today offers guided tours of Shey and Thiksey monasteries and Stok Palace.

Shey monastery situated on a hilltop, 15km from Leh, was the summer palace of the royal family of the region. The monastery houses a two storey high-seated image of Buddha cast from copper and covered with gold leaf. It is also beleived that Kings of Leh were born here, in the monastery.

Thiksey monastery is situated on a hilltop and the views of the green Indus valley from its rooftop are splendid. This monastery has a number of chambers full of statues and stupas. Courtyard murals are bright and this imposing structure is in many respects a replica of Potala Palace in Lhasa.

Stok Palace now operates as a museum where in the Sengge Namgyal family heirlooms and relics are displayed. Overnight – Leh & Ladakh

Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India! Arrive into New Delhi and be transferred to our hotel. The remainder of the day can be spent at leisure exploring India’s capital. Overnight – Delhi

Days 2 – 3: Holla Mohalla at Anandpur Sahib

Delhi – Kangar Village. After breakfast on day 2 we climb aboard the Shatabdi Express train north to Chandigarh, passing through the picturesque state of Haryana which is blessed with lush green scenery and beautiful lakes and rivers. Upon arrival in Chandigarh we are driven to the tranquil Kikar Lodge in Kangar Village.

This is our base for the next 3 nights, while we attend the prestigious Hola Mohalla festival in the nearby holy city of Anandpur Sahib. Hola Mohalla is an annual 3 day festival which occurs during the first lunar month of Chet.

We spend the remains of day 2 and day 3 at the Holla Mohalla Festival, where we’ll witness all the colorful festivities which include dramatic mock martial arts battles (known as Gatka), impressive displays of weaponry, archery and wrestling.

There’s also music, poetry and prayers, singing and chanting, while food is served to pilgrims from all castes and creeds by women from the neighboring villages, who set up langars (community kitchens). This is impressive and humbling to watch as regardless of caste, all Sikh’s sit together.

There are also exciting horse riding displays from the Nahib Sikh Army where the riders gallop bareback, performing tricks like riding astride two horses. One of the main attractions at the festival are the Nehangs – a prestigious armed Sikh order who wear a striking blend of blue and orange, with twisted moustaches and staggeringly giant embellished turbans. Any keen photographers will have a whale of a time here with all the amazing sights and vibrant colors on show. Overnight – Kangar Village

Day 4: Kikar

Today is yours to spend at leisure. Anyone who wants to return to the Hola Mohalla Festival can do so, or there are plenty of other forms of entertainment. The lodge is surrounded by nature trails for any keen walkers and wildlife is here in abundance. Sporting activities include volleyball and badminton and there’s the opportunity to take a leisurely buffalo cart or tractor ride. Overnight – Kangar Village

Day 5: Delhi

Kangar – Chandigarh – Delhi. Today we travel back to Chandigarh and explore its wonderful Rock Garden. This unique attraction displays numerous sculptures made entirely from industrial and urban waste.

Look out for sculptures made out of mudguards and marbles, broken bangles and brake pads or even handle bars and hubcaps! Next we head over to Sukhna Lake. This picturesque manmade lake is 3 km in length and is very popular with water sports fans and is a great place to relax and unwind. Early this evening we travel by train back down to Delhi.

Once back in Delhi we are transferred back to the airport for onward journeys. Tour end.

This morning, our welcome meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi.

Day 3: Jaipur

Delhi – Jaipur. Today, we drive to Jaipur. Affectionately known as the Pink City as Maharaja Ram Singh had all of the Old City painted a welcoming pink in 1876 to herald a visit by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII), it is also the bustling capital of the state of Rajasthan.

We enjoy a tour of the City Palace and Jantar Mantar – an old yet cleverly designed space observatory. Overnight – Jaipur

Day 4: The Elephant Festival of Jaipur

Early today, we travel beyond Jaipur to the stunning 16th century Amber Fort – a sprawling Rajput concoction which hugs the hill on which it was built and overlooks the hot plains below.

We enjoy a stately elephant ride (Subject to Government regulations & availability) to the fort proper and tour the fort’s well-preserved interior and grounds.

This afternoon its festival time for the elephants of Jaipur and we will not be missing the parade! As we arrive to the showground at approx 4pm we’ll see camels and horses and lively folk dancers and musicians lead the carnival into Jaipur’s open air Rambagh Polo Ground. Groomed to perfection, glittering in gold, laden with silk tassels and intricately decorated with brightly coloured motifs, row upon row of elephants parade past the crowds.

Hoping to be ringside, we’ll witness the colorful celebrations which include the crowning of the Best Decorated Elephant, a regal match of polo played from elephant back and the comical bout of man verses elephant in a game of tug of war. The days activities come to a close at approx 7pm. Overnight – Jaipur (B)

Day 5: India celebrates Holi

Jaipur – Bharatpur via Peharsar. It’s an early start today as the Holi festivities bring thousands of devotees out onto the streets in dazzling colour and good cheer.

Celebrated all over India since ancient times, Holi is an annual festival which takes place on the day after the full moon in the Hindu month of Phalguna. Originally Holi was an agricultural festival celebrating the arrival of spring. In keeping with this tradition people now choose to celebrate the occasion by throwing brightly coloured spices or herbal powders into the air, symbolically they are ridding the gloom of winter and rejoicing in the colors and liveliness of spring.

Today the central ritual of Holi incorporates the applying and throwing of coloured water and powders on friends and family which gives the holiday its modern name ‘the Festival of Colour’.

Arriving at the small rural village of Perharsar, we tour a charming, rustic haveli (mansion house) with small courtyard and lawned gardens which has been carefully restored to its former glory. From here its a short drive to our hotel in Bharatpur.

After hotel check and time for lunch, you can pull up a chair and watch the Holi celebrations taking place out on the lawn. Later we will go to Keoladeo Ghana National Park for a late afternoon bicycle rickshaw ride and birdwatching. Overnight – Bharatpur

Day 6: The Taj Mahal – built for love

Bharatpur – Agra. En route to Agra, we visit Fatehpur Sikri, former imperial capital of the great Mughal emperor Akbar. Built between 1569 and 1585, it has been deserted for more than four centuries, by all accounts abandoned in 1600 due to a meagre supply of water.

In Agra, we visit the impressive Agra Fort before touring the legendary Taj Mahal and witnessing a glorious golden sunset. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in loving memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz, who tragically died in childbirth in 1631, the Taj Mahal in Agra is described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love and remains one of India’s most enduring symbols.

Detailed Tour Plan

Day 1: Delhi

Welcome to India and the start of your holiday! Arrive Delhi, included transfer to hotel. Overnight – Delhi

Day 2: Sightseeing in Old & New Delhi

This morning, our Welcome Meeting takes place. We’ll then enjoy a full day sightseeing tour of Delhi, taking in the impressive Red Fort, Jama Masjid – India’s oldest and largest mosque, Raj Ghat – the site of Gandhi’s cremation and more.

Tonight, we enjoy Dinner at a restaurant specializing in classic Indian cuisine. Overnight – Delhi

Day 3: The Taj Mahal

Departing Delhi, we journey to Agra, once India’s Mughal capital.

Here we explore the legendary Taj Mahal. Built entirely of white marble, the Taj Mahal has no peers.

Continuing, we visit Agra fort, which boasts some of India’s finest Mughal buildings behind it’s fortified walls. We also visit a marble craftshop. Overnight – Agra

Day 4: Jaipur

Agra – Jaipur. En route to Jaipur we visit the stunning former Mughal city of Fatehpur Sikri – Emperor Akbar’s vision in red sandstone.

We enjoy lunch at Udai Vilas Palace in Bharatpur, before continuing our journey to Jaipur. Overnight – Jaipur

Day 5: Jaipur

This morning, we travel beyond Jaipur to the 16th century Amber Fort.

An exotic elephant ride transports us to the lofty fort, where we’ll enjoy a tour of this Rajput extravaganza.

Later in the afternoon we tour the City Palace, which boasts an interesting museum of regal attire and Jantar Mantar, an ancient astronomical observatory.

Overnight – Jaipur

Day 6: Surajgarh – rural India

Jaipur – Surajgarh/ Shekhawati region. Today, we drive to the semi-desert Shekhawati region.

The small towns in this region became important trading posts, a lasting legacy of which are the beautiful painted havelis (mansions) constructed by wealthy merchants in the 18th and 19th centuries. Enjoy an afternoon village walk. Overnight – Surajgarh

Day 7: Bikaner

Surajgarh – Bikaner. Travelling west, our next stop is the 14th century desert town of Bikaner.

Once an important staging post on the great caravan routes, much of the atmospheric old town which we will explore is still encircled by massive fortified walls. Within these walls are havelis, artisan shops and people going about their daily lives.

We also visit the spectacular Junagarh Fort & museum, built between 1587 and 1593 during the rule of Rai Singh. Overnight – Bikaner (B)

Day 8: Jaisalmer

Bikaner – Jaisalmer. Driving through the Rajasthani Thar desert we arrive at the medieval caravan outpost of Jaisalmer, one of the jewels in India’s crown. Exquisite wood and yellow sandstone buildings dot the town and within Jaisalmer Fort are homes, hotels and shops hidden in ancient lane ways.

Late afternoon and evening at lesiure. Overnight – Jaisalmer

Day 9: Jaisalmer Desert Festival

Bright and early this morning we take a guided tour of the Jaisalmer Fort. Today we have a wonderful opportunity to experience the exciting spectacle of the golden city’s grand parade. As the drums of Rajasthan beat out aloud brightly adorned elephants with their mahouts and tassel laden camels and riders, colourful floats, singers, dancers and marching bands will waltz on by in the city’s annual street parade.

Afterward we’ll wait in readiness at the First Gate of mammoth stone fort. Here, with the honey colored fortress as a backdrop there will be plenty of photo opportunities as the procession marches by. Then, together we can walk alongside the festival and street parade as it weaves its way through the city streets of the Rajputs to gates of the town stadium.

We too will enter the stadium (scheduled to arrive at 12 noon) and watch the festival events for an hour or so before continue with our city sightseeing tour (time permitting).

Later in the afternoon after time to freshen up and have some lunch we enjoy a camel ride across the vast, rolling sand dunes of the desert. Overnight – Jaisalmer

Day 10: Jodhpur & the Mighty Thar Desert

Jaisalmer – Jodhpur. An interesting drive through increasingly varied scenery takes us to Jodhpur, a town at the edge of the mighty Thar Desert.

Dominated by Meherangarh Fort which sits majestically atop a hill, Jodhpur is known as the Blue City.

This is because of the coloured houses in the old town, painted indigo. We’ll enjoy some touring in this colourful Rajasthani city, taking in the mighty fort and bazaars of the old city which are gathered around the city’s tall clock tower. Overnight – Jodhpur

Day 11: Ranakpur

Jodhpur – Ranakpur. Leaving Jodhpur, we drive to Ranakpur, a small town tucked away in a remote valley and famed for its beautiful 14th century Jain temples.

We’ll enjoy some exploration here and time to relax at our hotel. Overnight – Ranakpur (B)

Days 12 – 13: Ranakpur – Udaipur – picturesque Lake Pichola

Continuing south, we arrive at Udaipur. An oasis of cool, with its massive lake and Venetian-like appearance, Udaipur is one of the most romantic towns in Rajasthan.

A favorite amongst travelers, Udaipur is crammed full of palaces and temples. During our stay we’ll enjoy a cruise on Lake Pichola, plus touring of the imposing City Palace, not to mention free time to explore and perhaps shop for colorful Rajasthani souvenirs and Indian spices.

Overnight – Udaipur

Day 14: Fly back to Delhi

Udaipur – Delhi. Departure transfer to the airport to board a morning flight to Delhi / Mumbai, see note below. The afternoon is free for you to relax at the hotel or to head out and further explore Delhi. Overnight – Delhi

Day 15: Delhi

Saying goodbye to our new found friends, our tour ends, hotel check-out and included onward transfer to airport.
