When the Portuguese arrived in Goa, it was under the Muslim Bahmani empire. The Portuguese defeated the Bahmanis and conquered Goa in 1510; thus beginning 450 years of Christian rule. This rule ended when in 1961, the Indian army marched into Goa, and overthrew the Portuguese.

Goa is the smallest state of India but has the highest per capita income. India’s very first printing press was set up in Goa. This state has a two-wheeler taxis and more than 7000 bars! It is also true that Goan people can apply and avail a Portuguese passport along with the Indian one!

I've just returned from a marvelous trip to India with a group of photographers. All arrangements were made through Indus Trips. The owner, Parveen Kumar, accompanied the group and proved to be very flexible in adapting the day-to-day itinerary to assure we were getting the optimal photographic opportunities.
